About AAPIs in Clean Energy

We are a professional group formed in 2022 to bring together and support AAPIs and allies that work in the clean energy, clean transportation, and climate solutions space in the Washington, DC area.

We organize professional and social events like happy hours, speakers and panels, and more to better facilitate community development and networking opportunities in our professional space.

 
 

ABOUT THE ORGANIZING TEAM

Jarrett Stoltzfus

Jarrett Stoltzfus is the Senior Director of Government Relations and Public Policy at Proterra, one of the largest bus and battery manufacturers in North America.  Jarrett’s career in clean transportation spans over 13 years, from serving on the executive team at Foothill Transit, one of the first transit agencies to operate electric buses, to working at the Federal Transit Administration at the US Department of Transportation.  He also serves on the City Council of Mount Rainier located in Prince George’s County, Maryland.

Maddie Lee

Maddie Lee is a Senior Policy Analyst at Enel North America, a renewable energy and storage developer and subsidiary of the Enel Group.  Maddie previously worked at the Center for Climate and Energy Solutions (C2ES) on business engagement and climate justice. Prior to C2ES, Maddie completed a Fulbright grant in Mongolia, where she conducted research on the country's renewable energy transition.

Carianne Lee

Carianne Lee is the Director of Climate Policy and Appropriations at Pioneer Public Affairs, a clean energy and climate solutions government relations firm. Carianne previously worked for  Congresswoman Bonnie Watson Coleman (NJ-12) as the Senior Legislative staffer. While working in Congress, Carianne sat on the board of the Congressional Asian Pacific American Staff Association (CAPASA), and most recently led the association as President. Prior to working in Congress, Carianne served in the United States Peace Corps in Burkina Faso, West Africa.

Danielle Moon

Danielle Moon is the Director of Government Relations at Sparkz, a cobalt-free electric battery manufacturing company. Prior to joining Sparkz, Danielle was the Director of Programs and Community Engagement at the Asian Pacific American Institute for Congressional Studies (APAICS) from 2021-2022 where she oversaw APAICS’ signature programs providing resources and entryways for AA & NH/PIs interested in public service. From 2017-2021, Danielle worked on Capitol Hill as Senior Legislative Assistant for Congressman Joaquin Castro (TX-20). Her portfolio covered AAPI civic engagement, Energy, Natural Resources, and Foreign Affairs issues. While on Capitol Hill, Danielle founded the Clean Energy and Technology Staff Association, a bipartisan and bicameral congressional staff association dedicated to educating and promoting the adoption of clean energy technologies. In 2021, Danielle was selected to participate in the Atlantik-Brucke German & American Young Leaders Program. Prior to joining Congressman Castro’s office, Danielle was an appointee with the Obama Administration at the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) for Secretary Ernest Moniz from 2015-2017 where she participated in high level energy initiatives in Seoul and Beijing. Danielle has a bachelor’s degree from Syracuse University and participated in educational programs at Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Harvard Business School.
